this vacation has been good, and it's not over yet. and for that, i'm happy.
i have seen a good band live. which i heard on the news, experiences are always more valuable than material items. i took pictures that looked like shit to start, and using iPhoto and Photoshop, i made them look legit and i'm proud.
thanks to Julia Nunes i decided to read John Green's Paper Towns. It was intriguing and captivating and interesting. Even though all I've read are "little kid" books lately, this one was particularly well written and I enjoyed the disney-esqe ending to it all.

in other news, my friend sent me the "obama song" by michael franti and spearhead. i love it. i wish i'd found this during the campaign.
i saw an interesting magazine cover with barack on it. it was him in a shirt that said "this is what a feminist looks like" i thought it was interesting but i didn't read it.

i really have no news. pretty lame around here.

in other news:
i'm working on this project in school. it's by far the most complex i've done. ever.

that's a combination of ikat (african method) and pattern weave. and yes, my treadles are labeled because i'm an idiot. sorry.

and i have this weird obsession with french painter Piet Mondrian.

last year i did an ode to him (the smaller painting-thing) and i just decided i wanted a piet blanket, so i've been working my ass off on that. which is obviously the fabric.

i'm sick and coughing. peace :)

i told you i'd have a picture heavy post coming.

i haven't updated in over two weeks. i have good reason, i swear.
finally, the week of hell is over. that is, semester finals.
i know, my school is SO late on them. yeah yeah yeah. but i'm just hoping i didn't bomb anything too badly. someone's at the bottom. :\
so my brain was all fuzzy and mushy for a while and that was annoying. and it was just stressful as is imaginable and exhausting.

highlights aside from... the test taking:
made a hat for my friend while procrastinating. it was hella cute. (image heavy post to come)
forever 21 didn't have the dress I PUT ON HOLD [hates] so instead i walked around the mall and got myself a pair of earrings. yaaay
i went to salvation army with one of my best friends. picked up a pair of oxford type heels (totally for the LOLz and to get me.. 2" taller. haha) and i got a bunch of records for like $1. so exciting.
good chills with some friends and watching zoolander. happy heart.

today:
i melted one vinyl into a bowl.
i went to the craft store and got myself fabric and sticky tac.
my room now has records hanging on the wall and i'm working on making a piet mondrian

i'm totally wiped out.

not gonna lie... raphael saadiq reminds of finding my rock roots. i love good soul.

snow on a busy day

all business all the time.
this is the view out my window as i'm sitting here, procrastinating on a research paper. i've read over 50 pages, and i'm so bored! i don't know how much i really care about new spain or khubali khan's china, for reals.
it's snowing like no other. how's your weather?
